Simple Butterfly Card

Today's post is a little bit of Project Life, Stampin' Up! and Blueprints 15 from Die-namics and my entry into this week's Freshly Made Sketches weekly challenge.

This is an A2 card and the card base and front were die cut using my Die-namics set.  I then used some retired DSP for the large accent.  I cut two flags also from retired DSP and cut down a Project Life card I creased and folded it in half.

I then die cut the butterfly from my Sizzix Basic Shapes die and stapled this to the Project Life card. I placed Dimensionals behind and adhered this to the flags. I then added rhinestones for interest.

On the inside I die cut using Die-maniacs Stitched Rectangles set one from DSP and the other Whisper White.  I then stamped my sentiment die cut it and raised it on Dimensionals also.

Here are two more cards I have made following the same theme.

For this card I stamped the base accent in Sahara Sand using a Gorgeous Grunge stamp from the set and added sequin to embellish it.

Simple but very pretty. Hope you think so too.

Colour Q Weekly Challenge

This was a tough one for me.  I had the concept in my head but I played around with different variations before I decided on the final one.  Equally I thought I had found a close replica of a colour but the ink then came out darker than I had hoped but I had committed myself.  Lots of processing, playing around and much tougher than I expected, so brilliant! It's good to be challenged.

Looks kind of simple now it's finished doesn't it lol.

So, the background stamp is Sweater Stitch from My Favorite Things and stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe ink from Stampin' Up!  It was this that looked much paler and I thought it would be a good substitute for Apricot Appeal but it's much more orange, he ho.  The Night of Navy is my vest last scrap but the card needed it to help balance the colours out.

The substitute for More Mustard is very close.  I think this is a Bazzill card stock, which I have had in my stash for years.  The tags were made using Die-namics Pierced Tags Stax.  The smaller stack was stamped in Night of Navy using Typewriter Text stamp from MFT.  The butterfly is a die from SU called Bold Butterfly and this is in the tiniest smidging of Calypso Coral I had left.  I then added silver ribbon, a Vintage Faceted Designer Button, adhered with a Glue Dot, and rhinestones to embellish, all from SU.  The words are stickers from Tim Holtz and the peg is from my stash.

Here is the inside.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and if you would like to see more head over to Colour Q click HERE

Hope you are having a great day, take care of you.

TGIF The Follow-Up

I have a second card I am submitting the TGIF weekly challenge 'clean and simple'.  Here it is.

The card stock is all Stampin' Up!  Timeless Elegance is the background with Very Vanilla and Basic Black.  The sentiment is from the Hello You die set in gold foil and gold heat embossed.  Inside I used the Itty Bitty Heart punch and the Hearts Border punch with gold glimmer paper.

The black accents are from my stash and I have used Die-namics dies.

Well I'm off to make more cards as its raining once again here in wet Carnoustie.  Hope your day is sunny and bright.  Take care of you.

My Favorite Things Weekly Challenge

I am so behind in my blogs as I was away at the weekend. Here is a card I made yesterday for this challenge.

When I came home on Monday I had received 'happy mail' - Whimsical Wishes from of course #mftstamps so I had to use this in my card.

The background was multiple,e stamped and then heat embossed I. Silver.  Stampin' Up! Hello You die set was used for the sentiment as is all the card.

The tag is from the Piercec Tag Stax and the hearts are from Fluttering Heart, both Die-namics, and the larger heart is from the Border Hearts punch from Stampin' Up!

Why not head over to MFT Sketch Challenge HERE and see more great project.

Great fun. Enjoy your day. Take care of you.

Happy Birthday Card

Why is it when designing a card layout some flow easily and others, well just don't.  This card despite deciding to follow a MFT Stamps design template just wouldn't work.  Å¶ou would think having the template would make it easy but not today.  That said I'm now happy with it so here it is.

Here's the template.

Pink Pirouette die cut inside with stars from the Blueprints 15 set and Stampin' Up! mini punch set.  The hearts are from the Blueprints 15 set with the smallest also being from SU mini punch set.  The envelope is Very Vanilla.

Here you can see more detail; Sweater Knit stamp from My Favorite Things, Round Stitched Rectangle die set, Stitched Rectangle die set, Scribbles die set all from Die-namics.  "Happy" sentiment die cut 3 times in Pink Pirouette adhered together then a pearlised cream card from my stash layers on top.  The navy is Night of Navy from SU as is the silver foil.  "birthday " has been stamped using the Rotary Alphabet stamp from SU also.

I think possibly the reason I struggled today is because over the last 4 weeks I have made over 70 cards, around 50 different designs, so maybe my head is all pooped out lol.  I love making them, I sit all day every day making cards it is such a peaceful thing for me to do but maybe I need to take a rest and come back to it later.  Can't see it happening but I will try gardening instead for a day or two.

Take care of you.

Freshly Made Sketches Weekly Challenge

I'm playing catch up.  I was off this past weekend at an 80's music festival, camping in the rain.  There was horrendous mud everywhere lol.

So today I have quite a few cards to make to get entered into weekly blogs.  Here is my entry for the Freshly Made Challenge.

I used a new stamp set, Whimsical Wishes from My Favorite Things on the right.  This I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  The tag was die cut using MFT Die-namics Pierced Tag Stax using Stampin' Up! Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper collection.  I then stamped a sentiment from the Whimsical Wishes set onto Stampin' Up! Basic Gray card using Archival black ink then cut this out and adhered this to the tag.  A Tim Holtz sicker was used on the side.  Rhinestones were added to embellish.

Why not head over to Freshly Made Sketches HERE and check out other entries using the template above.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and have had a great weekend too.  Take care of you.

Twice The Pretty

Rarely do I make the same card twice but when I do its because I love it so much, even then there are always some differences.  Joy Taylor over on Pinterest was my inspiration, this is her design.  Here is what I have been making.

I only had one enamel button so I followed the theme and went for monochromatic instead.

Here you can see all the layering.

Another side view .

I am loving white on white and I will definitely be making more use of this in cards to come.

Hope today has been good for you.  Take care of you.

Take 2

Laugh you probably will but I really hate my last card, the one with the balloons.  It took me ages to make to, but it just wasn't working.  So I made another one, this came together quicker # comfort zone.  I do like to challenge myself and it probably shapes rather than colour and the balloon card was just too much for me but I will leave it up for you to comment upon should you wish.

Now how pretty is this card lol.

And as always the inside gets a bit of decorating too.  I purposely leave thank you cards blank in case the giver wants to write more and needs more blank space.

Ok, I can rest now.  Hope your day has been fun, why not come back tomorrow to see another card then.  In case you aren't coming from my first link, click  here to go over to the Colour Q blog.

Take care of you.

Colour Q Weekly Challenge

For this week's Colour Q challenge I succumbed to the balloon craze that's going around. I'm not really a balloon person but thought I would give it a go.

I used my Sizzix Eclips to make the balloons as I don't have any dies or stamps. I made several different sizes and used one as a negative space stamping my Sweater Stitch stamp from My Favorite Things underneath.  I also used Calypso Coral instead as this is a very close match.

I used the Eclips to create some balloon strings too. I stamped the balloons with a dots stamp from the Wonderful Wings set. I used the new White Perfect Accents from Stampin' Up! and using s blue Sharpie coloured them in.

Well that's this card. Hope you enjoyed it and I will see you again tomorrow.  Why not head over to the Colour Q blog and check out the other designs.  Click here

Watercolour Wings Birthday Card

The Today's card is rather special. Not only because I have used the wonderful new stamp set from Stampin' Up! but also how I have made the "you".  I have also used my favourite die sets from Die-namics Blueprints 15 and Stitched Rectangles. Here it is.

There is a lot going on in this card and it took me quite a while to make.  The "happy" and "to" were stamped and die cut using the Stitched Rectangle die set from Die-namics.  I needed to run these through my Big Shot several times to makes these individual sizes.  The "birthday" was stamped using my new Rotary Alphabet stamp then die cut also. All the words were stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto Whisper White card.

Here is a view from the side.  Crystal Effects was also used on the butterfly to create a glossy finish.  A glassine die cut butterfly was added onto the larger butterfly and rhinestones added for embezzlement.

Here is a closer view of the "you".  To achieve this look I die cut it out 4 times, 3 in white and once in the melon mamba card. I then adhered each layer individually using Crystal Effects as this has a small tip and also dries clear. This creates depth and height without using foam dots as the word is so delicate it would be impossible to achieve this using them.  It is time consuming and took quite a while and a steady hand.   Crystal Effects was also put on top as when dried this brings a glossy finish.

Here is the inside die cut and rhinestones added for embellishment.

The dots at the side were stamped in Melon Mamba ink and then cut to size and raised on Dimensionals.  Rhinestones were added to the front of the card for embezzlement.

Beautiful You

Well a few days I got some new goodies and this new Striped Cover Up and the pierced Tags dies from Die-namics you just know I love.  I feel over this past couple of months my passion for cards has increased ten fold and really developed too.

Here is my first use of the Striped Cover Up die, you know your going to see so much of it over the next few weeks.  I used two of the Pierced Tags and silver embossed onto the white tag using a Flowering Flourishes stamp and silver embossing powder from Stampin' Up!

Silver foil flowers added to envelope and Signo White pen to centre of flowers.

The "you" is from the Hello You die set, the card is Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.  The flowers are punch from the Itty Bitty punch set, "beautiful" is from Express Yourself stamp set, stamped in Basic Black and die cut using the Stitched Rectangles set from Die-nanics.  The brads I have had for years and used to use when I made mini albums, these can be seen in my much earlier blogs using Graphic 45 collections.

Too much fun, I'm off to make another card.  Take care of you.
